But before jumping to buy it you should also know a few disadvantages that might bother you .
- Price: with a starting price of about 1000$ (for mid to high spec) this laptop’s higher cost may be a barrier for budget-conscious buyers as a few laptops like acer aspire 5 gives you much more for the same price .
- Limited Repairability: Components like the battery and storage are often difficult or impossible to replace without professional assistance you will most likely damage your laptop without a professional .
- Lack of Ports: Some Surface laptop models feature a limited selection of ports, typically including only a few USB-C or USB-A ports and a headphone jack. This can be inconvenient for users like me who rely on a variety of external devices and may require the use of dongles or adapters.
- Thermal Throttling: In thinner and more compact designs, Surface laptops may face challenges with heat dissipation, leading to thermal throttling under heavy workloads. This can result in reduced performance or increased fan noise, particularly during demanding tasks such as gaming or video editing.
- Limited Configuration Options: Surface laptops are often available in a limited number of configurations.

A brief Overview of Surface Laptop Models:
1. Surface Laptop Go
- Target Audience: Students and budget-conscious users
- Key Features:
- 12.4-inch PixelSense display
- Lightweight and portable design
- All-day battery life
- Affordable price point
- Disadvantages of Surface Laptop Go:
- Limited Performance: The Surface Laptop Go is powered by less powerful processors ( intel i5 10th generation) compared to other Surface models .Although surface laptop Go 3 features an intel i5 (11th or 12th gen) which enhances the performance to a much better level however the price is also increased from 549$ to 799$ but Go 3 also gives you 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage ( increased from 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage) .
- Display Size and Resolution: Some users may find the 12.4-inch display size and lower resolution of the Surface Laptop Go to be less immersive or suitable for multitasking compared to larger and higher-resolution displays available on other laptops.
- Battery Life: While the Surface Laptop Go offers decent battery life for general productivity tasks, it may not last as long on a single charge compared to other laptops with larger batteries, especially under heavy usage scenarios. The Go 3 also have an improved battery ( now it has 41 watt-hours battery as compared to 39.7 watt-hours earlier) battery now lasts upto 15 hours as compares to 13 hours earlier .

The Surface Laptop Go is perfect for students or anyone needing a reliable, affordable laptop. Despite its lower price, it doesn’t compromise on essential features. Also I would highly recommend to buy surface laptop go 3 over go because doubling RAM and storage has a much greater impact on user satisfaction .
Our Verdict : 4.0/5

- Key Features:
- Available in 13.5-inch and 15-inch models

- Disadvantages of Surface Laptop 4:
- Limited Design Innovation: The Surface Laptop 4 maintains a similar design to its predecessors, which is kind of disappointing.

- Lack of Thunderbolt Support: It is equipped with USB-C ports, but it does not have thunderbolt support and I frequently use it for high speed data transfer. The Surface Laptop 5 includes Thunderbolt 4 support.
- Average Graphics Performance: Does not have a dedicated graphics card. While the Surface Laptop 4 can be upgraded to Windows 11, the Surface Laptop 5 is optimized for the new OS out of the box, The Surface Laptop 5 features Wi-Fi 6E and 12 th generation i5 processors .
- Keyboard and Trackpad: Some users have reported issues with key travel, responsiveness, or reliability. Although I found the typing experience to be good.

The Surface Laptop 4 strikes a balance between performance and portability. It’s powerful enough for demanding applications and multitasking, making it a solid choice for professionals and general users . The surface laptop 4 works just fine for lower models I would not recommend throwing an extra 100$ just for thunderbolt but if you are going for high end surface laptop I would prefer surface laptop 5 over 4 because there are other significant improvements like keyboard , camera , audio and security features 12th generation intel processors also offers improved integrated graphics.
